Dear Parents,
Thank You to everyone who sent in
gifts for our Baby Shower for Jesus. The Children enjoyed
refreshments, opening the gifts, and games with their Prayer Pals.
They had a great time racing to see who could change the Baby, find
the right item for the diaper bag, pushing the baby in stroller,
crawling across the gym, and several other games. It was so nice to
see the older children helping and having fun with the younger
students. All of the items were donated to a Pro-Life Group.
Thank You to the Chaperons who drove
and helped out on our Field Trip. I hope you all had a great time, it
is so nice to be able to make memories with your child, because
believe me they will be parents before you know it. I'm not sure if
everyone heard but we had a kind Santa who paid for all the children
s' meals, what a sign of the true meaning of Christmas.
Here are some of the things that kept
us busy last week:
Reading: We worked out to “Heidi's
Alphabet Action” and “Jack Hartman's Uppercase and Lowercase
Workout”, and sang along with the “Busy Beaver's Christmas ABCs”.
They learned all about the Letter “R” with StarFalls and
“Phonics Letter R” on you tube. Our Theme was Rudolph the Red
Nose Reindeer and we learned the song following along with words on
Smart Board and worked on writing the letter “R” and the word
Reindeer.
Math: The children enjoyed “Nine
Little Reindeer”, “Ten Little Elves”, “Counting with Santa”,
and “Christmas Counting to 10” on the Smart Board. They loved
playing Rudolph, Rudolph Colorful Noses and exercising with “Zero
the Hero” and “Exercising to 100 by 5s”. We did several
Christmas Theme papers about following directions and worked on
writing numbers 1 to 5 while counting Christmas items. We reinforced
colors and position words while making Santa Foam Ornaments, Snowmen
Foam Ornaments, and Wooden Ornaments.
S.S./Science: The Children always enjoy
Show-N-Tell and Letter Bag. Thank You for taking the time to fill
Letter Bag and to send an item with your child to share with the
class. In class we talked about the Advent Season, read Night Before
Christmas and made “Who's Awake Little Mouse' Craft, and Sang along
to “O What a Special Night” and made “Angel Kissing Baby Jesus”
Craft.
Religion: We have been lighting our
Candles on our Advent Wreath and learning the song “Jesus is
Coming”. They have learned about John the Baptist, Mary (Jesus'
Mother and Ours), Joseph(Jesus' Step Dad), and the Angel Gabriel.
Crafts: The Children made Rudolph the
Red Nose Reindeer, Candy Countdown to Christmas Santa, Nativity
Poster, and Edible Rudie the Reindeer. The children have been
working on a Special Project and I hope you all like it.
Story Time: Some of the Stories we
enjoyed were “Clifford's Christmas”, “Santa has the Sniffles”,
“Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, “The Littlest Elf”,
“Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Shines Again”, and “I've Seen
Santa”.
Blankets and pillows went home today,
so that way we will not need to worry about sending them over
Christmas Break.
Our Party will be Wednesday the
21st. If you could please send in your child's gift for
exchange on Tuesday, so that we can make sure everyone has a gift.
Thank You to the Room Mother's for putting on our parties. If you
need help with anything please let me know.
I wish each and everyone of you a safe and enjoyable Christmas and
New Years. I pray you get to make some marvelous memories.
God Bless!
Miss Marie
