Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had a
Wonderful Christmas Break and got to make some wonderful memories.
Every year it seems to go faster. I want to thank all the Room
Mothers for another Great Job done on our Christmas Party and Thank
You so much for all the wonderful gifts.
A few reminders: You
may send in the pictures of your child doing things they like and
some of their Family for our Bulletin Board, we will start taking
turns next week and each child will have a turn to be focused on our
Board; please remember to keep reading those books and sending in
your Reading Logs; you may send in your snacks for January at
anytime; Show-N-Tell is on Thursdays so your child may bring an item
they would like to share; also please remember that Father would like
each child to put an envelope into the basket at Church so if you
would like to send some money for them to put in it really makes them
feel very proud; one last thing, our class is suppose to make a
basket for the Silent Auction for the Italian Feast on February 4th,
the Theme is Family Fun Night and you may send in those items at any
time. Thank You for all you do for the School.
This week we have been
getting back into the routine of School. They have all jumped right
back in like they never had a break. Our Letter is the Letter “M”
and our Themes have been Manners, Monkeys, Mittens, and Mice. We
worked on numbers 8, 9, and 10 with counting Christmas items, they
learned”Nine Little Reindeer”, counted along to “Barneys 12
Days of Christmas”, matched Mittens, found Gingerbread Men, and
Exercised to 100 by 1s, 5s, and 10s. We finished up with the
Christmas Story learning about the Shepherds and the Three Kings,
they watched the Claymation of Three Kings and Loved the video of “O
What a Special Night”, the children loved water Painting the
Nativity scene and using poster paint to paint the Three Kings. For
the new students, we do attend Mass every Thursday and each child is
assigned an 8th Grade Prayer Pal. We get together with our
Prayer Pals at least once a Month to do a project, share a snack, and
play some games so they get to know each other, I believe the 8th
Graders enjoy it as much as the little ones. On Wednesday the Prayer
Pals came down and watched “The Mitten”, made Mittens and colored
the animals(once they laced the Mittens the little ones then placed
the animals in and retold the story to their pals) they then shared
a snack of Marshmallow Treats and M&Ms, after that they built
with blocks, did puzzles, and played babies together.
Next week our Themes will
be Penguins, Hibernation, and Winter. We will be learning about The
Holy Family and Jesus Baptism. The children will all be working on
writing their name on paper and in shaving cream.
Also we will be having
our Frozen Party on January 24th, so on that day if your
child would like to dress up as one of the Frozen Characters that
would be Awesome, otherwise they may come to school in Pjs and we
will watch the Movie and enjoy some fun games and snacks.
If you ever have any
questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to contact me at
anytime. Sorry this was to go home on Thursday the 5th
but due to the Snow Day, it is coming home today.
God Bless!
Miss Marie
